Healthy Competition at Work is a Good Thing

Another instructor here at New Horizons and I have a little competition going on right now. We both scribe blogs for one reason or another. He, along with others here, are under the impression that sheer quantity of blog posts are a healthy measurement for success. I, on the other hand, feel that quality blog posts are what define success.

Also, I find it somewhat repulsive that a man would wear the same shirt for 30 days to promote MindSurf. Granted, Mindsurf will be the coolest thing ever, with representatives from Adobe unveiling Creative Suite 4. Microsoft will also be in attendance with sessions covering Microsoft Office 07.

There will also be Business Skills sessions covering topics like Negotiating and Building Teams.

You can read more about MindSurf here.

Back to the matter at hand, the topic of Competition. As long as the parties involved are competing for the overall good of the company in which they work, competition in a healthy thing.

Try to get people more involved at work by playing to their competitive nature.

By the way, you can read more about Brian's blog and his smelly shirt here.
